DR. CAROLYN GRAEBER

Carolyn Graeber, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric care and strabismus. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine, where she graduated cum laude. Dr. Graeber completed an internship in internal medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and her residency in ophthalmology at New York University Langone Medical Center, both in New York City.  She then completed her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School under the mentorship of David Hunter, MD, PhD, one of world’s preeminent pediatric ophthalmologists. Dr. Graeber has held faculty positions at Harvard Medical School and New York Medical College.

She is the owner and physician of Children’s Eye Care of Northern Colorado in Fort Collins, CO, which she cofounded with her husband Michael Mitchell. It is the only children-focused practice of its kind in Northern Colorado. She enjoys engaging with young patients and giving parents the tools they need to help their children lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Prior to moving to Colorado, Dr. Graeber worked as an attending physician at the Hawthorne, New York office of Boston Children’s Ophthalmology and at Fromer Eye Centers in New York City. She held faculty positions as an instructor at Harvard Medical School and an assistant professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.

In addition to earning the respect of her patients, she is recognized as a standout in her field by fellow doctors. She has had her research peer-reviewed and published in prestigious journals like JAMA Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma and Open Ophthalmology Journal and has presented her research at conferences both domestically and abroad. She has also served as a peer reviewer for Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Graeber is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
